Jake Nicholas Just
Last seen walking home with some friends after a Devil's Night party
UCF #104200207 Location: Midland, Ontario, Canada File: Disappearance of Jake Nicholas Just Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Michael B.
File Number: 104200207
Midland, Ontario - The teenager had been at a bush party near Midland's Sunnyside neighbourhood.
On the evening of October 30, 1998, Jake had been partying with friends that night, drinking beers and horsing around by breaking bottles over their heads. At about midnight, Just was last seen walking home with some friends after a Devil's Night party.
On the way home, Jake decided to take a trail through the woods. His friend continued along the street and the two were to meet up at the point where the trail exited to the street. He was drinking heavily and was intoxicated.
A friend said Jake, who had been drinking, fled into the woods after being chased by a local resident as the party ended.
When friends began calling the house the next day looking for Jake, his mother knew something was wrong. She reported him missing that evening, almost 24 hours after he was last seen.
The problem for investigators has always been, now what? If Jake made it out of the woods, where could he possibly have gone?
Hampered by a possible head injury and under the influence of alcohol, did he lose his way and stumble into a boggy swamp, where he was swallowed up by so-called quicksand?
Although a marsh and quicksand were near the wooded trail, searchers could find no physical evidence to suggest that Jake, or anyone, had traveled near these areas in the days prior to Jake's disappearance.
Theories abound - some of them floated by psychic mediums hoping to help solve the case. One medium told Debbie Just her son made it out of the woods only to be struck dead by a car on the street, scooped up by the panicked drunk driver and whisked away.
Debbie Just still has no idea what happened to her son Jake, who went missing in Midland on Oct. 30, 1998, when he was 18. Police are no closer to solving his disappearance today than they were 22 years ago. - Rick Vanderlinde/Metroland
Just, desperate for any clues, listened to the self-proclaimed psychics.
"Almost immediately one of the women grabbed my arm and said, "You know he's dead." "I was not prepared for that. Of course that is in the back of your mind but for someone just to say that."
In the end, psychics uncovered nothing solid, no credible leads for police to pursue.
"I haven't found they can truly solve or help," Just said.
Despite an eight day search, no physical evidence linking back to Jake was found.
When Jake entered the wooded area, he was carrying a knapsack. It has not been recovered.
There were hundreds of potential witnesses interviewed and numerous tips were follow up on.
In recent years, police have received more calls from people with theories than tips. One such theory has Jake deciding to follow a hydro corridor through the woods to the area of a Midland strip club, where he may have been abducted by unsavory characters.
Again, police have no evidence, no witnesses, that suggest Jake was anywhere near that area.
And his mother believes her 170-pound, six-foot-two son could take care of himself in an altercation, especially since had been studying karate since he was a child.

Victoria "Tori" Marsbergen
BODY FOUND IN A DUSTY CEMETERY
UCF #104200035 Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada/Mexico File: Toronto-Area Woman's Murder in Mexico Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Duncan M.
File Number: 104200035 Toronto, Ontario, Canada - They found Victoria "Tori" Marsbergen's body in a dusty cemetery near the airport in the lawless Mexican city of Ciudad Juarez. It was reportedly her first visit to the tough border town across the Rio Grande. Overwhelmed local cops claimed she was battered to death with a rock and died from head trauma. The 21-year-old Canadian woman, who is believed to be from the Toronto area had been living in El Paso, Texas, when she disappeared, El Diario De Juarez reported. Tori was last seen in this car bearing New Mexico plates. Tori Marsbergen had not been heard from since April 29, 2019 and her mom, Tammy Daniels, took to social media looking for help. She also filed a missing person report with the El Paso Police. Daniels wrote on Facebook: "Her phone is off. Her phone is her life and she will never let it just die or turn it off, especially this long. Tori as everyone knows her, has not shown up for work either."
Victoria had the word "Kylie" tattooed on her chest, "Aaron Mathew" inked on her right clavicle area and a heart stating "Aaron" inked on the middle finger of her left hand.
Mexican authorities have not officially disclosed a reason why Marsbergen may have been in Juarez.
Mexican media reported that it was Tori's first time in Juarez, a city so dangerous that Canadian travellers are strongly cautioned against going there.
"Her presence here in Juarez was unusual, she had no roots here in the state, nor in the city, so we are investigating what was the reason for her presence because... we do not know who she was going to visit", said Cesar Augusto Peniche, state attorney general.
One Mexican report said Tori had recently received threats although who was doing the threatening is unclear.
This case remains unsolved.

Adrien McNaughton
WANDERED AWAY DURING A FISHING TRIP
UCF #104200051 Location: Arnprior, Ontario, Canada File: Disappearance Of Adrien McNaughton Status: COLD CASE Contributor: Fred U.
File Number: 104200051
Arnprior, Ontario - On June 12, 1972, while on a family fishing trip at Holmes Lake near Calabogie, Ontario, Adrien McNaughton was fishing for about an hour with his father, Murray McNaughton. Adrien became tired and stopped fishing because his line was tangled. He sat down on a nearby rock, then left the lakeshore to play a short distance away. He then wandered away from his father, his two older brothers, and a friend of his father into a wooded area. The father after noticing that Adrien was missing, sent Adrien's eldest brother Lee McNaughton to the car to search for him. When Lee didn't find Adrien a search was sent out to find him. Hours later when Adrien was not found, the police were contacted. At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a blue nylon parka jacket, an orange striped shirt, brown shorts, and boots with rubber soles. A massive search was conducted to find McNaughton as thousands of volunteers led by the armed forces searched the area where Adrien had gone missing. While extensive searching was conducted, no clue to his whereabouts was found. In 2009 with the use of new digital technology, his parents hoped to find him as an adult. Also in 2009 when Adrien's parents were contacted by the Toronto Sun, his mother declined to be interviewed and referred questions to the police. A CBC original podcast called Someone Knows Something investigated Adrien McNaughton's disappearance, beginning in 2015. The show is hosted, written and produced by award-winning Canadian filmmaker David Ridgen, and its first episodes were released in March 2016. On April 23, 2016, as part of the investigation for SKS, five highly trained volunteers conducted a search dive of Holmes Lake, looking for the remains of McNaughton, after four separate cadaver dogs indicated that they were detecting human remains in the area. A tooth-like object and small piece of rubber that may have belonged to a shoe were uncovered under eight feet of water. The tooth-like object when examined by the police was found not to be human.

Lori Pinkus
Pinkus was found partially nude
UCF #104200200 Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada File: Unsolved Homicide of Lori Pinkus Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Duncan M.
File Number: 104200200
Toronto, Ontario - Having grown up in Ottawa, the youngest of 9 children, Lori Pinkus had moved to Toronto from Ottawa only 5 months prior to her murder. In Ottawa, Lori had been the victim of an assault, having been stabbed in the chest in her apartment. Two men were charged in the attack, but the charges were dropped against one of the men when Lori failed to appear for court dates related to the assault. A warrant was issued for Lori for failing to appear in court and she left Ottawa shortly after.
Trying to escape her troubled past, Lori was looking for a new start in Toronto. Battling a drug addiction, Lori worked in the sex trade to support her habit. Her apartment was located in a rough area and the school parking lot where she was found was in an area notoriously frequented by drug dealers.
Toronto police had collected evidence from Lori and the scene of her murder, but at the time, DNA testing was not available. Now, police have a DNA profile of the man they believe killed Lori and are looking for a name to go along with that DNA profile. Unfortunately, the killer's DNA has not been found in the national DNA database.
"Now, that we have the killer's DNA, we just need a name to go with it." says Det-Sgt. Stacy Gallant. Gallant said police are convinced that someone knows the man who killed Pinkus.
"There is no doubt that there are people that are close with the offender or who were close to him back at the time of this offence. And you know he is responsible for this murder," he said. "This is a killer who left a young woman's body on display in a school yard. It is time he is held to account for his despicable actions."
Lori Pinkus was found partially nude, suffering from medical distress, in the parking lot of Brockton High School, north of Dufferin Mall, on 90 Croatia St. (YouTube)
Did Lori know her attacker? Was she the victim of a drug deal gone wrong?
Was she simply and tragically in the wrong place at the wrong time?
Can advancements in DNA technology finally bring her killer to long-deserved justice?
With big breaks happening in cold cases recently, let's hope that we are starting to see the beginning of a wave of cold cases being solved by DNA, where victims receive justice and perpetrators of violent crimes are finally dragged out from their shadowy hiding spots.

Steven Vincent Mylan
His vehicle was logged by American Customs
UCF #104200195 Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada File: The disappearance of Steven Vincent Mylan Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Jonathan F.
File Number: 104200195
Mississauga, Ontario - Steven Mylan, 18, left his family's Mississauga residence shortly after midnight on February 13, 1998. He was driving a black two-door 1991 Chevrolet Barretta with the license plate number 336-ZHK. He had previously mentioned wanting to travel to the United States for a medicine used to treat hair loss.
American customs officials recorded Mylan's vehicle entering the United States at the Rainbow Bridge on February 14, the day after he was last seen. It has not been established whether he was driving it at the time.
A few days later, a man found Mylan's car abandoned with the keys in the ignition. It was parked near the jewelry stands at the Little Colorado Gorge Overlook at the Grand Canyon in Arizona. The man took the car for himself and drove it around for a few months until it broke down.
On June 8, 1998, nearly four months after Mylan's disappearance, his car was found stripped and parked off State Route 64 in Flagstaff, Arizona. It had been there for months. A search of the Little Colorado Gorge, beneath where the car was left originally, turned up no indication of his whereabouts.
Mylan's family told authorities that it is uncharacteristic of him to leave without warning; they cannot think of an explanation for his disappearance. At the time of his disappearance, he was a student at Humber College's north campus in Toronto, Ontario, majoring in business. Canadian authorities are investigating this case.
Steven's vehicle, described as a black, two door, 1991 Chevrolet Baretta, was later located on June 8, 1998 at Lookout Point at the Grand Canyon in Coconino County, Arizona. Locals in the area advised the car had been in the area since February 1998.
It is worth noting that no evidence has been discovered indicating that Steven ever even made it out of Canada before disappearing. It could be just as likely that an earlier, unknown person stole his car first, driving it into the United States when it was first noticed entering, before ultimately abandoning it for reasons unknown. Sadly, this theory is nothing more than empty speculation.

Mary Emma Hammond
SHE LEFT HER TOWNHOME UNIT
UCF #104200121 Location: Brantford, Ontario, Canada File: Disappearance of Mary Emma Hammond Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Daniel N.
File Number: 104200121
Brantford, Ontario: Mary Emma Hammond (nee Bisenthal) left her townhome unit on Elgin St., around 3:30 a.m. on September 8, 1983. She had the early morning shift at the former Buns Master Bakery, 110 Morton Ave., where she had worked for approximately one year.
Mary declined her husband's offer to drive her to work and left the home alone on the approximately 1.5 km walk.
Walking north on Park Road North (now Wayne Gretzky Parkway) she passed the Massey-Ferguson factory and cut across the field towards the rear of the bakery. Approximately 4:00 a.m. a co-worker called Mary's husband asking why she hadn't arrived at work. Her footprints were followed to the property line at the rear of the bakery and to a point where Mary cut across a field. They then disappeared.
Police were notified. Evidence at the scene includes some items from her lunch, a cup, dish and a half-eaten apple, one of Mary's white sockettes and a small quantity of blood in an area of the field.
At the time of her disappearance Mary Hammond was 25 years old, 5'10", 140 lbs., with long straight reddish-brown hair, brown eyes and a fair complexion.
She was last seen wearing a blue, mauve and red lumber jacket, blue jeans, white Adidas running shoes with a silver stripe and a yellow T-shirt.
Investigators received information that a pickup truck left the rear of the bakery around the time Mary disappeared. The truck was seen parked at the back of the bakery parking lot and later driving through the rear lot. It is described as an older brown pick-up possibly a Ford, with painted bumpers and round headlights. Despite appealing to the public and an exhaustive police investigation, no truck matching that description has ever been found.
Anyone with information about Mary Hammond is to contact the Brantford Police Service at 519-756-7050 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
John Horvath
BEATEN TO DEATH
UCF #104200143 Location: Welland, Ontario, Canada File: Justice for John Horvath Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Matt N.
File Number: 104200143
A property crime escalating into a cold-blooded homicide is a rarity, but the Niagara Regional Police Service believe this is exactly what transpired twenty years ago when victim John Horvath interrupted a break and enter inside his Welland home.
On Jan. 4, 1999, during the early stages of the investigation, police discovered a back door to the Norway Avenue home of Horvath had been physically forced open. Police were initially contacted by concerned neighbours after snow from a recent storm had yet to be shovelled by Horvath.
Upon entry, and what appeared to be a routine break and enter quickly morphed into a homicide investigation when the body of Horvath was located mere steps away, inside the unsecured home at the bottom of stairs that led to the basement of the home.
Police believe the forced entry and homicide occurred two days earlier, on Jan. 2, 1999. Horvath had been beaten to death.
Police believe the suspect(s) were anticipating the Norway Avenue home to be unoccupied. Instead, the person or persons responsible were unexpectedly confronted by the homeowner after forcefully entering the home by unknown means.
Horvath was a former shop teacher from E.L. Crossley Secondary School in Welland. At the time of the murder, Horvath was a retiree in his mid-seventies, living alone in his Norway Avenue home.
Niagara regional police are seeking the public's assistance for any information pertaining to the solvable cold case homicide of Horvath, 20 years after this horrific crime occurred.
"The investigation into the unsolved homicide of Mr. John Horvath remains open and the Niagara Regional Police Service is committed to continuing this investigation in order to identify the person or people responsible," says Staff Sgt. Luigi Greco from the Niagara Regional Police Service major crime unit.

MYSTERIOUSLY VANISHED
UCF #104200149 Location: Ajax/Pickering/Scarborough, Ontario, Canada File: 6 Lost Boys of Pickering in 1995 Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Matt N.
File Number: 104200149
In what would become a fateful headline, the 'Lost Boys' of Lake Ontario - and an unsolved case of multiple missing persons - has left many questions unanswered for 25 years today (2020).
Pickering, Ontario, 1995: After leaving a neighborhood basement party on a cold night a group of six teenage boys (who had been drinking) headed out for some clandestine 'goofing around' at the Lake Ontario.
The last time the Lost Boys were seen was when they stumbled into the marina on March 17, 1995 after a night of partying. Jay, 17, was with Chad Smith, 18, Robbie Rumboldt, 17, all of Pickering; Jamie Lefebvre, 17, of Scarborough; Michael Cummins, 17, of Oshawa; and Danny Higgins, 16, of Ajax.
Jay was tall and muscular, and had a blazing fastball that labelled him as a baseball phenom in his early teens. He'd done time for assault and was facing more assault and weapons charges. He also had a daughter with his girlfriend Monique, who shared a rented basement apartment with Boyle.
That night, Boyle's mother was taking care of baby Kierra, who turns 28 this year (2022). The boys broke into two marinas and stole a four-metre imitation Boston Whaler, and made off with that, a three-wheeled paddleboat they boosted the night before and a case of beer they found in another boat. Residents heard the sound of a motorboat at 2:30 and 3 a.m., but the boys were never seen again.
A massive search effort was underway 36 hours after the boys were last seen. Durham and Toronto Police were joined by the Coast Guard, a Hercules C-130 aircraft and a helicopter from the Canadian Forces base in Trenton. Nothing was ever found. None of their bodies nor the boats they were on have ever been found. More on this case »
Donna Oglive
Body Found in a Parking Lot
UCF #104200161 Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada File: Donna Was Four Months Pregnant With a Baby Boy Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Miguel S.
File Number: 104200161 December 2, 2020 - Donna Oglive, a resident of British Columbia, was in Toronto for five weeks before she was killed, police said. She was four months pregnant with a baby boy.
The body of 24-year-old Donna Oglive was found after 7 a.m. on March 8, 1998, in the corner of a parking lot at 130 Carlton St. on the east side of Jarvis St. She had been strangled, police said in a news release.
Just year, Toronto police appealed to the public for information leading to the killer of 21-year-old Lisa Lynn. She was found after 9 a.m. on May 12, 1997, face down in a laneway south of Front St. E. and west of Cherry St. She was also strangled.
Oglive had been working as a sex trade worker in the Gerrard Street East and Church Street area at the time of her death.
Lynn worked in the sex trade industry in the area of Wellesley Street East and Bleecker Street before she was killed.
Homicide cold case Det.-Sgt. Stacy Gallant told the Star that the DNA profile of the killer from both cases do not match, and that the cases are not considered linked.
But there are similarities in that the two victims were sex trade workers of about the same age and were both killed in similar circumstances in the downtown core.
I want people to know these are not forgotten cases," said Gallant, who was on his last day at work before retiring after 31 years with the Toronto Police Service.
The DNA profiles of the killers weren't on the national database, Gallant said.
Donna Oglive was known to travel between British Columbia and Toronto regularly. She was of Filipino descent, with dark skin, about 5'5", and approximately 160 pounds. She had black shoulder-length hair and was wearing a long white high heel boots, a mini skirt and fur jacket.
Anyone with information on the two deaths in Toronto is asked to contact police at 416-808-7400, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637).

UCF #104200167 Location: Brantford, Ontario, Canada File: Mysterious Death of Newborn Baby in Brantford Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Brenton M.
File Number: 104200167
December 10, 2020 - It's a case Brantford Police say they will never give up on.
15 years ago, July 2005, a newborn found dead beside a Brantford, Ont. street was buried without a real name.
Baby Parker was found wrapped in a towel by a local woman walking her dog near Parkside Drive and Dufferin Avenue. The next day, Brantford police received a call from somebody who found a "bloodied object" in their backyard, which was revealed to be Baby Parker's placenta through DNA.
The baby's body was taken to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto for a post mortem examination while police canvassed the area. They visited over 200 homes and took DNA samples in the hopes of tracking down a match.
"The residents in the neighbourhood were extremely cooperative with police," a news release reads. "Just fewer than 100 samples were collected, and all were analyzed by the Centre of Forensics and found to have no biological link to baby Parker."
A week later, Brantford police received a handwritten letter from "a young girl" claiming to be Baby Parker's mother. In the letter, she wrote that she knew she was pregnant but kept it a secret because she didn't know who the baby's father was. While she was partying at a local park, she went into labor, where a female friend helped her deliver the baby. Her friend claimed the baby was dead and disposed of the body in some bushes.
Brantford police have release a letter sent in 2005 from a woman who claimed to be baby Parker's mother. (Brantford Police Service)
The letter says the mother was partying at Lansdowne Park when she went into labour. "I didn't know what to do," the letter reads. "My friend helped me through it - she told me my baby was dead. She told me she was going to place it in the bushes and we'd come back later."
The letter ended with the writer begging the police not to perform DNA tests on the baby out of fear that his father may be located, as he had nothing to do with it, and she was eventually going to come forward about what happened after she mustered up the courage.
Police have not heard from the writer since. Fingerprints were found on the letter but have not matched to anyone in any databases.
Characteristics:
- A DNA profile revealed that Baby Parker was 89% Caucasian and 11% percent Native American. Both of his parents would've looked Caucasian in appearance.
- Baby Parker was born alive but had trauma to his ribs and skull.
- No drugs or alcohol were found in Baby Parker's system
The towel Baby Parker was wrapped in a beige "Select Editions" towel and a "Sea Same" tag. It was 100% cotton, 2' x 4' in size, and made by Cambridge Company. The towel was in good condition.
"If you were with a group of youths in any of the parks or local hang out spots several days prior to the discovery of the lifeless infant's body please come forward," a police statement reads. "You may hold key information without realizing the importance."
The baby is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Anyone with information is asked to call Brantford police at 519-756-0113 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Found Dead in Her Apartment
UCF #104200169 Location: London, Ontario, Canada File: Cold Case: Unsolved Murder of Patricia Bovin Status: COLD CASE Contributor: Osvaldo R.
File Number: 104200169
London, Ontario - Patricia Bovin was murdered when she was only 22 years old. She lived at 790 King Street in London, Ontario with her two children.
A friend called Patricia on Thursday, April 24th, 1969. When she didn't answer, the friend went by the apartment at 4:00 pm that afternoon and found Patricia's body.
It was a nightmare scene. Patricia's two young boys, aged one and three, were by their mother's body. It was as if they were waiting for her to wake-up. They were sobbing, dirty, and hungry.
The front door that accessed the staircase was unlocked. And a neighbour found a pillow case covered in blood by the front of the building. Therefore, the front door was the probable entry point. There were no obvious signs of forced entry.
The apartment was in disarray. Chairs and other items were scattered around. Not by the murderer, though. The children had moved the items in an attempt to reach food.
Nothing was stolen from the apartment.
Patricia was stabbed over a dozen times in the torso while asleep on the couch. She had no defensive wounds and wasn't sexually assaulted.
Patricia's murder remains unsolved.
If you have any information about this murder please call police or Crime Stoppers.

Susan Cadieux
Body Found At The Rear of Roy James Construction
UCF #104200171 Location: London, Ontario, Canada File: Who Killed Susan Cadieux, 5? Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Miguel S.
File Number: 104200171
On Friday, January 6, 1956 at about 7:15pm, 5-year-old Susan Cadieux was playing in the schoolyard of St Mary's School located at 345 Lyle St with her older brothers and another girl from the neighbourhood. The Cadieux family lived across the road at 665 York St, not far from the school.
At approximately 7:45pm, a man approached the group and spoke with Susan who relayed to the other children that the man was going to give her something.
The male also told them that he was supposed to meet with the St. Mary's church priest and stated that he lived on York St. as he pointed his finger towards King St.
When the children got distracted by a nearby fall on the ice, the male walked away with Susan.
By 8:00pm, Susan's brothers ran home to tell their parents what had happened and a search for Susan began. The London Police Force became involved in the search by about 9:30pm that night and by 1:30am on the morning of January 7, over 300 people were searching for Susan.
At 10:08am, Susan Cadieux's fully clothed body was found at the rear of Roy James Construction located at 609 William St. alongside the CPR spur line.
Sketch of the male last seen with Susan Cadieux
In the 1950's police sketches were actually done by hand. The picture above is a sketch of the male who led Susan away.
He was described as white, 30-40 years old, tall, thin, and unshaven. He was wearing a light brown overcoat which was unbuttoned, unbuckled black galoshes that flapped openly, and a dark Russian style or army Melton hat with ear flaps.

Lisa Leckie
Found Deceased in Her Apartment
UCF #104200179 Location: London, Ontario, Canada File: Young Mother of Two Was Found Deceased in Her Apartment Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Daouda K.
File Number: 104200179
The young mother of two Lisa Leckie, 25, was found dead in her third-floor apartment on Southdale Road by her common-law husband, Derek, who was coming home from work shortly before 7 a.m. on March 24, 2009.
There is little information out there about Derek and Lisa's relationship. Derek did call police after discovering Lisa's body.
While still in high school, Lisa and Phil married. They split up more than a year before Lisa's murder, and the couple had one son together: 8-year-old Sean.
Her eight-month-old son was unharmed and found in his crib.
Over a decade later, investigators still haven't found her killer.
Investigators believe she was killed on the evening of March 23, 2009, or in the early morning hours of March 24, 2009. The autopsy revealed that she died as a result of asphyxiation.
Police revealed last year that a note written on a typewriter was left behind by her killer. The contents of the letter will not be released but investigators are hopeful that releasing the fact a typewriter was used will resonate with someone.
Head of the London police major crime section, Det. Sgt. Alex Krygsman, says the note indicates this was not a random act and that Lisa was targeted by someone she knew.
"We firmly believe that someone knows who killed this kind and loving mother, and we are appealing to that person's conscience."
Officers have also released surveillance footage pulled from a camera near Leckie's south London apartment. Police say the footage was recorded the night before Leckie's body was found.
A man described as 5-foot 11-inches and 200 pounds can be seen in the video. Investigators are looking to speak with him in regards to Leckie's murder.
Sean Leckie, who was eight at the time of his mother's murder, is pleading for someone to come forward.
"It affected everyone who had come into contact with her, to know that someone so special to us could be gone in an instant," said Leckie, in a video statement released by police.
Anyone with information can contact investigators with the Major Crime Section at 519-661-5674 or anonymously report to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
Cameron Gerald March
March Disappeared After Calling on Sleeping Friend
UCF #104200181 Location: Burlington, Ontario, Canada File: Disappearance of Baby Boy Cameron Gerald March Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Elvis M.
File Number: 104200181
Burlington, Ontario - It was on May 7, 1975, that four-year-old Cameron Gerald March went missing from the family's house in the Blind Line Road area in north Burlington.
According to the RCMP, the blond-haired and blue-eyed boy was last seen by his mother at around 3:15 p.m. He was reportedly playing on a swing set in a neighbour's yard not far from home. Cameron went into the neighbour's residence to play with a friend but was told that the friend was sleeping. He then left the residence and walked towards his house.
Not a day goes by that Gerry March doesn't think about his son Cameron, who disappeared more than 45 years ago.
March, who is turning 78, recalls the day he received the news.
"I was setting up a show at the CNE grounds. In those days you had no cellphones. So I never found out anything was going on until I got back to the office. All I was told was that he was missing. So I had to go from Mississauga back to Burlington," he said.
He felt "devastated" upon returning home, while his wife, Barbara March, "was just beside herself."
Extensive investigation and searches for the boy went on for "many, many days" and helped by "thousands of people."
The Milton Champion reported on its May 14 edition in 1975 how the aerial and land search efforts "covered the wooded swampy areas bounded by Blind Line, Colling Road, Guelph Line and Britannia Road."
It was later extended to the Lowville area and the Nelson Sand and Gravel pits, where "ponds in the area were dragged and explored by divers."
But their efforts were "to no avail" and to this day, Cameron's whereabouts are still unknown.
Over four decades later, March still keeps a box with newspaper clippings and "things from people." He's also still in touch with the police, the last time being a little over a year ago.
"They said they hadn't heard anything," March said.
Det.-Sgt. Kevin Britton of the Halton Regional Police Service said Cameron's disappearance remains open "until we're able to locate him or confirm what has happened to him or where he's gone."
"We are aided by tips from the public and if people provide us with new information... we will look into any new and all information we receive," he said.
In 1981, the March family decided to move from Burlington to Parry Sound, "not (to start) a new life but a different life."
"It was tough but we stuck it out and we made the best of it and moved away from where we were," he said, feeling blessed that they got to raise their other son - and now have a couple of grandchildren.

John Patrick McCormick and Eric Larsfolk
Boys Disappeared from Family's Farm
UCF #104200182 Location: Caledon, Ontario, Canada File: Dsiapearance of John Patrick McCormick and Eric Larsfolk Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Miguel S.
File Number: 104200182
Caledon, Ontario - It's been nearly 40 years since Eric Larsfolk and John Patric McCormick Jr. were reported missing.
Lloyd Larsfolk reaches into his back pocket and pulls out his wallet. He digs into a slot with his aged thumb and slides out a folded piece of paper. Creased and cracked from age, the paper symbolizes his life for the past 30 years. A photo of his son Eric is on it, taken the day he won a bicycle from Dairy Queen. Below the photo is the toll-free number for Child Find and a description of what his then 14-year-old son was wearing the day he vanished - literally, it seems to Larsfolk - off the face of the Earth.
The 80-year-old father of four holds onto the ripped card as a constant reminder of his desire to find his youngest son. Eric and John McCormick Jr. were last seen on the McCormick family farm on Horseshoe Hill Road on August 24, 1981 driving a field car.
Their whereabouts to this day, dead or alive, is unknown.
Sitting in a chair in his bachelor apartment in downtown Brampton, Larsfolk is visibly tired. For three decades he has held onto hope one day his son, a dedicated member of Scouts Canada who dreamt of owning his own business, might turn up. There is only the tiniest glimmer of hope Eric is alive, and Larsfolk understands the chance is very little.
"I just want to know what happened to my son before I die," he said, a heavy, tired sigh rustling through his entire body. Times were tough for the Larsfolk family in 1981. The family lived in Fort Erie, Ont., and ran a greenhouse business. It paid the bills, said Larsfolk, and he worked hard to keep putting food on the table. Eric put in a lot of time at the greenhouse, but also many afternoons on the Niagara River casting his fishing line.
"He used to catch fish and sell them to men who were at the racetrack there, so it would look like they were fishing instead of at the track," he said, adding a lot of American businessmen used to cross the border to go to the track, telling their wives various tall tales. "He was a really smart boy."
Eric wanted to take over the business one day, but things just got too difficult financially, along with constant battles with the town over re-zoning issues. The Larsfolks' were eventually forced to close their business.
Larsfolk and his family picked up their lives and moved to a farmhouse on Horseshoe Hill Road near the end of July, 1981. He found work in Brampton and told his wife Beverly and the kids to find a house they liked.

Cheryl Anne Hanson
Disappeared After Asking Her Mother To a Sleepover With Her cousins
UCF #104200188 Location: Aurora, Ontario, Canada File: Disappearance of Seven-Year-Old Cheryl Anne Hanson Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Michael B.
File Number: 104200188
Aurora, Ontario - It has been nearly 47 years since seven-year-old Cheryl Hanson disappeared, but her family says they haven't given up hope.
Cheryl Hanson was 8 years old when she disappeared from Aurora, Ontario, Canada on May 31st 1974. She was last seen at approximately 5:30 pm after she asked her mother for permission to have a sleepover with her cousins who lived approximately 10 minutes away from her family's farm. Her mother initially denied the request but then let her go. Cheryl packed her pajamas into a brown paper bag and was seen walking down the driveway towards her cousins house.
"At first I said no. Not tonight. Not today. She kept wanting to go and I agreed."
Cheryl's mother said she had a "bad" feeling after Cheryl had gone and called the house to see if Cheryl had made it to the house. Cheryl never arrived to her cousins house and was never seen or heard from again.
"I called up and said, 'Did she get there?' and they said no she's not here yet. I went running up the road. I thought she might have been hit by a car or something and that was it. I never saw her again."
After Cheryl disappeared, several witnesses came forward and stated they had seen Cheryl walking along Bloomington Road in Aurora. An extensive search which included over 411 volunteers commenced but no trace of Cheryl was ever found. Authorities believe that she was abducted and the victim of foul play.
"If we knew something one way or another, it would at least [bring] some closure - and we are not getting any younger," Cheryl's mother Patricia Hanson said.
A few months after Cheryl's disappearance, Donald Everingham was charged with the sexual assault and the attempted murder of a 9 year old girl. He confessed to several other murders, including the murder of Cheryl. He provided a description of the clothing that the girl was wearing and led authorities to the place that he allegedly disposed of her body. Cheryl's remains were not located and Everingham has since recanted his confession. He remains a person of interest in the case, however. He was unable to provide an alibi for the time that Cheryl was likely abducted.

Vanished After Dropping His Daughter Off At School
UCF #104200191 Location: Hamilton / Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada File: Disappearance of William Bokstein Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Matt N.
File Number: 104200191
Niagara Falls, Ontario - The family of a man who may be missing in Niagara Falls is putting out an impassioned plea for anyone with information regarding his whereabouts.
50 year old William 'Bill' Bokstein's family says they just want him back, and miss him terribly.
William Bokstein left his residence in Hamilton, Ontario on February 23, 2018 at 08:00 A.M. to drop his daughter off at school. After dropping off his daughter, it is believed that Mr. Bokstein traveled to Niagara Falls.
Every year, Hamilton police receive more than 1,500 reports of missing people. Sometimes they are found right away and sometimes they don't want to be found. But each must be taken seriously. When someone is seriously in trouble, every minute counts.
On February 25, 2018, William Bokstein was captured on video near the Fallsview Casino where he withdrew money. Mr. Bokstein has never gone missing before and has not been in contact with his family since, which is out of character for him.
He is a white man, about 5'10, 180-190 lbs. He has short, dirty blond, grey hair and blue eyes. Bokstein also has a nose ring, an earring, and tattoos on both arms and legs.

Const. Kim Walker is Hamilton's only missing person co-ordinator, a position created in 2011 and that she's held since late 2015. "I see every single one that comes through every day," Walker says. It's her job to make sure no detail is missed.
Most reports come in the same way - at a police station front desk - and most are investigated by front-line officers - representing a huge part of the workload for uniform patrol.
In Hamilton, there have been near miraculous cases where people have been found days after going missing. In 2015, for instance, Franco Mamone, then 75, was found in a field in Dundas three days after going missing without his medication.

UCF #104200192 Location: Toronto/Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada File: Mysterious Disappearance of Nicole Louise Morin Status: UNSOLVED Contributor: Rayman J.
File Number: 104200192
Toronto, Ontario -On July 30, 1985, Nicole Morin, 8, left her mother's penthouse apartment in The West Mall, in Toronto's Etobicoke area, and vanished.
At 10:30am Nicole had gone to the lobby of the twenty story apartment building to pick up the mail. She returned to the apartment and got ready to go swimming with a playmate.
Before leaving the apartment Nicole had spoken to a friend through the building's intercom and promised to be right down. The playmate waited about 15 minutes before buzzing the apartment again to find out why Nicole hadn't arrived. The two girls had arranged to meet in the lobby and go to a supervised swimming pool at the rear of the building.
About 11:00am Nicole said goodbye to her mother and left the apartment. There has been no trace of the girl, who was likely abducted moments after leaving the apartment in the Highway 427 and Rathburn Road area.
A massive search effort was launched by police for the missing eight-year-old girl, and though officials have received thousands of tips over the years, what happened to Morin remains a mystery.
Her disappearance would spark an extensive search of Etobicoke and the launch of a 20-member taskforce, with approximately 900 community members helping to look for the little girl. Unfortunately, No one has seen the girl since she closed the apartment door and walked into the penthouse hallway.

In 2004, researchers for a Belgian organization known as Fondation Princesses de Croy et Massimo Lancellotti announced that they had tentatively matched photographs of Morin seen on a Canadian police website with pictures on a Dutch website that advocates for sexually-abused children. Using biometrical analysis, the researchers claimed a strong resemblance between Morin and a child in a pedophile network in Zandvoort.
Despite the years of investigations and thousands of leads, no physical evidence has ever been uncovered to solve the disappearance.
In 2019, on the 34th anniversary of her disappearance, an age-enhanced, artist rendition of Morin was released. The sketch shows what Morin might look like in her 40s.
The case remains open to this day.
Nicole was wearing a peach, one pieced bathing suit with colored stripes on the front, a green headband, red canvas shoes, and was carrying a peach colored blanket and a purple beach towel. If you have any information on Morin's whereabouts, please contact Toronto Police at 416-808-2200.

On March 9, 1959 at 6:20pm 12 year-old Patricia Lupton went to get picked up from a man who called himself Mr. Johnson, who was answering her ad for her babysitting services.
Between 7:30 and 8pm three men found her strangled to death tossed near the side of the road on McCowan Road south of Ellesmere Road - a short distance from where she lived/got picked up.
Lupton was pronounced dead on the scene and was last seen alive en route to Kennedy Park Plaza sometime after 5:30 p.m. Over 60 years later, no one knows what happened to her.
Little is known about the case and there is a startlingly low amount of information out there that is often contradicted.
Patricia Lupton is the oldest Toronto Police Service cold case. Patricia was only 12 when she was discovered in medical distress on the side of the road on Monday, March 9, 1959 on McCowan Road south of Ellesmere Road.
Patricia Lupton is one of more than a hundred cases that still remain unsolved from the Toronto Police Service's time as the Central Detective Bureau (CDB). Cold cases are the ones where the murder occurred at least ten years ago. In all of these cases, Toronto Police are hoping that someone will come forward with information. In most cases, they've been forgotten about since the original investigation. Sometimes, the details aren't enough for an arrest to be made, but in some cases, it's been proven that someone did it.

File Number: 104200233
Ottawa, Ontario - On Oct. 10, 2009, a Saturday story in the Ottawa Citizen told readers that the 14-year-old Justin Rutter had never before stayed away from home overnight. They were asked to keep an eye out for the slim, caucasian teenager with light brown hair and brown eyes, last seen by a friend Thursday night before they parted ways on Cote Street near St. Laurent Boulevard.
"Justin told the friend around 10 p.m. that he planned to stay out late, or perhaps all night. He did not say why," the report reads. It was the first unanswered question in a case that would generate countless others.
Though it began with an all-too-familiar story - a young person is reported missing, police ask the public for leads, loved ones pray they're located safely - the mystery of Justin's disappearance has deepened and darkened with the passage of time.
The cold case is now more than a decade old, and the narrative surrounding his disappearance has shifted. Every possible theory about what happened to the 14-year-old has disturbing implications. His family has been devastated, and his mother left to question her son's fate, and how his case was handled.
Ottawa Police is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone with information confirming the current whereabouts of Justin Rutter or leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person(s) responsible for his disappearance.

File Number: 104200232
Kingston, Ontario - OPP, along with the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and Office of the Chief Coroner, released a detailed three-dimensional model of what the man looked like at a news conference.
Ontario Provincial Police hope a new facial reconstruction of a man whose remains were found west of Kingston more than three decades will help solve his murder.
The man's body was found in October 1989 in a ditch next to County Road 14 in Stone Mills Township, Ontario, which is near the village of Enterprise. Police say they hope the new facial reconstruction will help someone identify him.
OPP release facial reconstruction of man found dead in 2017
"We want to give this man back his name and his identity back," said OPP Det. Insp. Serge Acay. "This is somebody"s son, brother, father perhaps. We don't know. He has family somewhere."
The man was found bound and gagged. Police estimate his body may have been in the ditch for about two weeks, during which his facial features decomposed. They say all their investigate efforts to date have not been able identify him.
Recent forensic analysis shows he was a south Asian man between 35 and 55 years old. Forensic artist Const. Duncan Way spent hours shaping the clay reconstruction, right down to the clothes he was wearing when found.
Police say he was wearing a white short-sleeved dress shirt, a red and blue pullover, a sweater with a red, black and grey diamond pattern, grey socks with blue and red stripes, and black loafers.
OPP have released a clay facial reconstruction in hopes of identifying a man whose remains were found in October 1989 west of Kingston. (OPP)
"We don't know what happened to him, where he came from, where he was before," Acay said. "Somebody - one person or persons - did this to him, and we want to hold these people, or person, responsible."
Police are offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the man's death.
Anyone with information can call a missing person's hotline toll-free at 1-877-934-6363.

Windsor, Ontario - The Windsor Police Service and Windsor Police Services Board have doubled the reward to $40,000 for information leading to an arrest in the murders of Debilleanne (Dee Dee) Williamson and her son Brandon.
The bodies of Dee Dee Williamson and her son, Xavier Rucker, were found on February 27, 2003. Twenty years later, the investigation continues.
Williamson's sister was the first to come upon the gruesome scene, locating Williamson’s severely beaten body in the basement of the residence.
Xavier's body was in the bathroom on the main floor. For investigation reasons, police have never disclosed the child’s cause of death.
"There are people out there who know who is responsible for this double murder or who have information that can help us solve this crime," said Daniel Potvin, Superintendent in charge of investigations.

"We hope the additional reward money will provide the incentive these people need to come forward and tell what they know. Even a small piece of information that someone thinks is trivial be the missing evidence that allows our investigations to connect the dots and finally solve this mystery."
On the 20th anniversary of these horrific homicides, members of the Williamson family joined investigators to announce that a $40,000 reward is now being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the case — twice the amount that was previously announced, and the highest amount for any current Windsor police investigation.
"Twenty years is a very long time of not knowing and unanswered questions," said Dee Dee's niece Nike Williamson.
She said while she was very young when the crime happened, it is something that is on her mind daily.
Const. Steve Owen, lead investigator on the case said there have been numerous persons of interested who have been ruled out through DNA evidence.
"Through the years like I said, there's been numerous persons of interest some were easily rolled out. Some have not been some are still persons of interest and some are strong persons of interest where there may be more than one thing that points to that person," he said. "But at this point, we're not prepared to say it's this one individual."

Const. Owen said Dee Dee had friends on both sides of the border, so there are persons of interest in both Detroit and Windsor. He said the focus is evenly split between the two cities with Detroit police cooperating.

Windsor, Ontario - Windsor police have increased and extended rewards in the unsolved murders of seven people over several decades, in the hopes of finally offering some justice to the victims' families.
The rewards in each case are available until December 31, 2023.
"We want to not only solve the homicides and bring people who are responsible through the court system, but it so important for the families to get that closure," said Acting Deputy Chief Jason Crowley. "That's the importance of finding who is responsible for these crimes and bringing them to justice."
Kirk Knight
The oldest case on the list is the May 1980 murder of Kirk Knight. Someone kidnapped him, tied him to a cement block and dumped him into the Detroit River, likely while he was still breathing.
Police have said in the past they believe members of the Lobos biker gang, which patched over to the Hells Angels in 2001, were behind the brutal slaying.
Knight's murder likely stemmed from the May 16, 1980, shooting of Lobos gang member John Muzzatti outside the Seminole Tavern, now known as Silvers. Knight's brother was a suspect in the shooting. Muzzatti survived, but the gang wanted payback.

Knight, who had nothing to do with the gunplay, was last seen May 19, 1980, being forced into a green 1972 Chevy Nova by three men. A boater found his body on May 25, 1980, still tied to the cement block, bobbing against some abandoned docks.
Marlene Sweet and Jason
The next oldest case is the double murder of Marlene Sweet, 31, and her seven-year-old son, Jason. Their badly decomposed bodies were found in their home, apartment 15 at 8671 Wyandotte St. E., on Sept. 13, 1982. Their deaths were violent. Police have said Sweet was beaten to death and her son appeared to have been smothered.

Debilleanne "Dee Dee" Williamson and Xavier Brandon Rucker
On Feb. 27, 2003, the bodies of Debilleanne "Dee Dee" Williamson and her four-year-old son, Xavier Brandon Rucker, were discovered in their home at 1323 Tilston Dr. Police never established a motive or a firm suspect, but several persons of interest remain under investigation.
Gerardine Butterfield
Gerardine Butterfield, 63, was discovered dead in her apartment at 591 Wellington Ave. on May 25, 2019. But police believe she was killed several days before that. Butterfield lived alone in apartment 101 and allowed only immediate family members to visit her. It was known that she would only leave her apartment with those select family members.

Anyone seen with her, trying to contact her or leaving her apartment in May 2019 would be considered suspicious. It was revealed in 2020 that a person of interest had been identified, but police were still looking for more witnesses and additional information.
Jerome Allen
Jerome Allen, 29, was last seen early in the morning on Octobaer 28, 2018, at Leopard's Lounge and Broil. He was reported missing seven days later. Allen's body was never found. Despite not having a body, a crime scene or a murder weapon, police believe he was murdered.
Allen was living in the Windsor area when he disappeared but he had ties to the Greater Toronto Area. Police have said they believe there are people in Windsor, the GTA and elsewhere who know what happened, who is responsible, and where Allen's body was hidden.

File Number: 104200239
Brampton, Ontario - On the afternoon of July 21, 2017, Kara's body was found in the brush near a creek on Castlemore Road in Brampton.
Her employer had reported her missing three days earlier.
"We found out she had been missing for two or three days at that point and then it was pretty much the next day, was when we were told they found her body," recalled her sister.
Kara Lynn Clark was last seen leaving a residence in the area she was later found around 1 am. Authorities say her body had obvious signs of trauma but have not released a cause of death. They list her death as "suspicious" but will not comment on whether or not they believe she was murdered.
Clark and her mother travelled eight hours from Timmins to get Kara's body, only to learn three days later her remains were already on the way back to Timmins
Police said all possible investigative leads have been "exhausted" and the case is now classified as "pending further information."
"This means that investigators will act on any new information in relation to this investigation as it is received," said Cst. Bancroft Wright.

Since Kara was found with "little to no hair," the family believed she may have been scalped. However, that theory on the condition of her hair was debunked by investigators.
Kara had recently moved from Timmins to Brampton and was working at a recycling facility. According to Clark, she was living with a boyfriend she met at work.
Clark said during that last phone call with her sister, Kara revealed she had a fight with her boyfriend.
Police said there are separate reports in which both Kara and her boyfriend were charged in relation to domestic related incidents, but they would not confirm if the incidents took place during the days leading up to Kara’s murder.
If you have any information regarding the murder of Kara Lynn Clark, you are encouraged to contact the Peel Regional Police at 905-453-331.
