Thoughts About Brampton
Brampton has been a dangerous city since the mid 90's and saying otherwise is ignorant. -Reddit user
Brampton should be be number 2 on the list. I grew up in Brampton but moved to Toronto 5 years ago. Every time I go back I feel less safe even though I have become more mature and more street savvy. I feel like there's a larger concentration of meth-heads than there used to be in the downtown area. My family lives in the Chinguacousy/McLaughlin area, which still feels relatively safe, but there have been some attempted petty thefts in the area. -Reddit user
It's perfectly safe in the part of Brampton I live in... if you live in a shitty area, you might not feel safe. But that goes for any city or town. -Paul N.

Thoughts About Oshawa
My thoughts are not very good ones, property taxes in the north end are quite high, and have been for many years, the resources here are not very good, too much crime, too much traffic congestion, too many homelessness, the city looks like a disaster area. Tis been destroyed now. Nothing is going to be done on it, and no I have no idea or anything to say positive about the city of Oshawa, lake ridge health is not a very good hospital under staff too much of a high population in this city with one hospital, and not enough resources for the increase population, some of the roads are a disaster area.
Cost of living is high everywhere, I suppose not enough police workers to deal with the increase population. I do not understand if the province wants durham region to build up, where are the resources to sustain the population? No I do not think Oshawa is amazing, I have lived her for over 30 years, I plan to move out of here as soon as I am able too. I use to like living in Oshawa, not any more. Too dangerous!!!!! Nothing will get done about it, never does. -Nancy
Stevenson area is dangerous. Mainly harassment, threats. But I think Stevenson is still safer than half of the cities in Ontario. -Facebook Page follower
We used to do al fresco... Picnic in Oshawa but no more. Some Durham regions are not safe these days. But Ajax is surprisingly calm and nice. -Fatima C.

Thoughts About Red Deer
It's a city full of rednecks, so be prepared for that. And be prepared for quite the "keeping up with the Jones's" mentality. I think that's a pretty good rundown. Probably a little biased because I've been here too long, but whatever. Good luck! -Sarah A.
I still live here, I'm raising my kids here.. It's pretty much common sense. Don't hang out downtown after dark, especially if you're a woman or under the influence of something. Don't leave valuables laying around unlocked. Don't be a d**k. -Osvaldo

Thoughts About Surrey
East Whalley, while an area in crisis, is not what you would call a no go zone. This by far the worst area of Surrey, but still has activity around and within it on a daily and nightly basis where there are plenty of average Joes and Janes in the parking lots and streets around the area.. -Facebook Page follower
Surrey (and the downtown Eastside of Vancouver) are the only two areas of Vancouver with a significantly serious reputation for crime. Would I walk through there during the day alone if I had to? Sure. But I’d sooner not. What are the chances I'd actually have a problem? Very small. Would I let my teenage daughter walk through there alone? NO. -Reddit user
It depends on the area. Surrey is an area known for crime and drugs in general. South Surrey is pretty residential and safe, Whalley/Newton are not safe. -Amanda
