Shannon Murrin, a man originally from Newfoundland, was charged with murder of Mindy Tran, whose body was found in a shallow grave two months after she disappeared in August 1994.

However, he was found not guilty by a jury after a seven-month trial, with his lawyers alleging that the RCMP's lead investigator at the time had manufactured a case against their client and manipulated witnesses.

Shannon Murrin, who was acquitted of killing eight-year-old Mindy Tran in Kelowna, British Columbia, also fatally shot a couple in 1993, a Newfoundland man alleged in pleading guilty for the role Murrin played in their deaths.

Joseph Oliver, 39, pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter for luring Dale Worthman and Kimberley Lockyer to a remote area on the outskirts of St. John's in 1993, where they were shot dead. But in doing so Oliver accused Murrin, a man he knew since childhood, of being the gunman. Murrin has denied he killed them.

Justice not served... They washed the clothes of Mindy and gave them back to the parents, instead of collecting and preserving evidence. I read that the judge was arrested in the Cayman Islands but they never released details.

It sounds like this guy was involved in the most infamous unsolved crimes. Allegedly. But he hasn't been convicted of them. Where is he now?

» Araceli J.

Mindy would have turned 40 years old this year. And no one has been charged!!! Rest in peace little girl.

If a case comes that somebody does know something, is $25,000 enough for them to actually come forward? Maybe not. For me that is just a placeholder for...
