Wabaseemoong First Nation, Ontario — The Ontario government is offering a $50,000 reward in hopes of solving the murder of 17-year-old Trent Hunter on Wabaseemoong First Nation territory police said in a news release Thursday, September 3, 2026.
"On December 11, 2021, at 3:25 a.m., the Treaty Three Police Service and emergency medical services responded to a call regarding an injured person at a residence on Main Street East in Wabaseemoong First Nation where they found Trent Hunter deceased at the scene," police said.
The Ontarion Provincial Police criminal investigation branch was called in to help to help with the investigation.
"Trent's family deserves answers" said Det. Insp. Ryan Gordon.
"We hope this reward encourages those with information to do the right thing and come forward with information. Even the smallest detail could be the piece investigators need to move this case forward."
The province said it’s offering the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whomever is responsible for Trent Hunter's death.
