Shannon Murrin, who was acquitted of killing eight-year-old Mindy Tran in British Columbia, also fatally shot a couple in 1993, a Newfoundland man alleged in pleading guilty for the role Murrin played in their deaths.
Joseph Oliver, 39, pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter for luring Dale Worthman and Kimberley Lockyer to a remote area on the outskirts of St. John's in 1993, where they were shot dead. But in doing so Oliver accused Murrin, a man he knew since childhood, of being the gunman. Murrin has denied he killed them.
Murrin was acquitted of first-degree murder in 2000 in the death of Mindy Tran, whose body was found in a shallow grave two months after she disappeared in August 1994.
